Army-Navy Cobra

Image
It was a thing of beauty.  I was watching the Army-Navy game, smiling at the memory of bets from past games, and biting my nails at the end of regulation, through the first overtime, and then into the second overtime.... And then there was this beautiful cobra that appeared on the screen.  Navy fumbled. Army scored, game over.

Beautiful Cobras, Florida-LSU

Cobras only emerge when a loss is unexpected. I don't think anyone saw this one coming. Certainly not this guy:   Or him, either..... When this guy dropped his cobra... They popped up all around him.

Beating #1

Sometimes, when your team has just beat the #1 team in the nation on their own court, especially in the last 1/10th of the last second.... you have to watch for the cobras. Trulick got the pic.  Count 'em. Cobras.  Glorious cobras EVERYWHERE. Congratulations to Steven F. Austin. Today, I'm a Lumberjack.  And I'm OK.

It is no longer enough to simply choose matching outfits when going to the Awbern-Georgia game.  Accessorize!  Matching Cobras! Cobra adeptly captured by Jeff Trulick.  Cobramaster Trulick added a couple more.

It was a great game.  And the cobras were beautiful. I think her ears were just cold. This one was shown in the game summary.

The Clemson Tigers, 2019 NCAA champions, defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide yesterday, 44-16.  It was a beautiful game. And it was a game with precious few cobras to be counted.  In fact, I only saw two - and my brother Parker captured them both for me with screenshots.  The first one was glorious, coming after a pic-six during Alabama's first set of offensive downs, just 1:40 seconds into the game. Interception for a TOUCHDOWN! It was glorious.  Full-on, both hand on head, fully hooded cobra. I was dancing around the room, screaming laughter, kissing the dog, spilling my beer on the floor.  And trying to find a camera so that I could capture the inevitable moment when th...

Winners Get Struck

Once in a great while, the players on the winning team can't believe it, either.  And the cobra strikes then, too. Following a rare successful hook-and-ladder play used by the Miami Dolphins to defeat the New England Patriots.... Sorry.  I just love those words.  Let me repeat. "used by the Miami Dolphins to defeat the New England Patriots" Two cobras. The bench erupted, as time expired and the Dolphins won.
